I am a big Mushroom lover, not everyone is. Because of my love for mushrooms, I always keep on experimenting. Almost every Friday I try something with mushrooms whether a pizza or a toast but this Friday, I tried a variation of my garlic and mushroom pizza. Instead of making pizza I used the pizza dough to make pizza bun. I loved the garlic mushroom and spinach pizza so I am sharing it with you. You can customize it by making toast, pizza rolls or buns.
Few things to keep in mind:
I made no variations in the recipe except making pizza rolls. I started from the toppings while you can organize the way you like. I made the spinach cream using fresh spinach, vegan cream cheese and some spices. You can also use frozen spinach for the spinach cream. Add a few pieces of garlic to the cream cheese so that it gives some flavor to the pizza. Remember not to add a lot of garlic as a few pieces of roasted garlic also give mild flavor. Keep the pizza for baking and it is in process, you can pan-fry the mushrooms. I suggest not to bake the mushrooms as they become tasteless and dry after baking. Here are some ingredients that you need for making the mushroom pizza.
Ingredients:
- Pizza dough
- Spinach
- Garlic cloves
- Dairy-free cream cheese
- Dairy-free cheese
- Olive oil
- Mushrooms
- Some spices
- Pine nuts
Time to cook:
- First of all, heat the oven to 400 degrees. Roll out the pizza dough using a rolling pin and place it in a pizza pan or a pizza stone.
- In case you are frozen spinach, boil it in salted water for some time until it starts to get wilt. Squeeze it well and chop.
- Heat the oil in a pan and roast the pieces of garlic for 30-40 seconds. Add cream cheese and spinach to the roasted garlic. Add some salt and pepper to give it some taste and stir it well.
- Now spread the spinach cream mixture and vegan cheese on the pizza.
- Put that pizza in the oven and let it bake for 15-17 minutes until the cheese gets melted.
- While the pizza is baking, add some oil in the fry pan and fry the mushrooms until they get browned and add some salt to it.
- Toast the pine nuts in the other pan without adding oil.
- When your pizza gets baked, add mushrooms and pine nuts and enjoy the pizza.
