Instructions ↠ In a big bowl, mix sugar water & warm water together. Add yeast to the bowl and let stand until it bubbles and foams (approx 10 mins) then add flour, olive oil and salt. Mix together for 5 mins. ↠ Remove dough from bowl and knead by hand for another 5 mins until the dough is smooth. If needed, add flour and knead until no longer sticky. Place dough in a large bowl greased with oil and cover. Let the dough rise in a warm place for 60 mins until doubled in size. Separate the dough into six portions. ↠ Dye each portion with food coloring. This process takes patience and time, you will have to knead each piece for 10-15 mins to get a uniform color. The dough you’re not using keep it covered, so it does not get dried. ↠ Roll all the balls into a small rectangle and pile them in a rainbow stack. Twist the stack together to make a rainbow log and divide the dough into 8 colorful balls. ↠ Make a hole in the center of each ball and stretch to make the bagel hole. Set aside and let rise for 10 minutes, covered. ↠ While bagels are rising, preheat your oven to 450F and bring a large pot of water to a boil. Drop 3-4 bagels at a time into the boiling water for 30 seconds on each side. vegan food colouring with food colouring.
